Todays Reading - Ace of Stones

Today’s card is from The Wildwood Tarot by Mark Ryan and John Matthews. The illustration is by the brilliant Will Worthington.

Ace of Stones – The Foundation Of Life.

In the book that comes with this deck the authors have provided a quote for each of the ‘suits’. For Stones the quote is as follows;

‘I learned this, at least, by my experiment; that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavours to live the life that he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.’ Henry David Thoreau.

I love this quote. It captures exactly the intention we need in our lives to get to where we want to be. You must live the dream as much as you can, place yourself within it. Don’t view it from the outer edges or try and wish it into existence...live it every moment of your life.

The Ace of Stones today tells us to begin this process. It is the beginning of your dream, right now this minute. The Stone on the card looks like it is thrusting up through the earth, a solid arrow head of rock. It asks us to accumulate all our ideas and thoughts about what we want and how we can get there and make them into something solid. The time for planning in the warmth of the mind is gone. Your dream is ready to become something physical in the light of day.

Once you make the decision to creatively manifest your new reality and place yourself fully into your dream, this rock becomes your foundation, rooted within the earth’s vibrant, yet subtle energies. From this place of stability you have the power to fulfil your material dreams on this physical plane, whilst using the creative energies of your mind and emotions that often remain mysterious, but are ever present within us, to shape and mould our journey as it spirals through the labyrinth of our lives.
Your path through the labyrinth is no longer hidden, or vague. It is now etched in Stone.
