Today’s card is from Earth Magic oracle cards by Dr. Steven Farmer. The illustration is by Doug Oliver
Mountain - Strength
Mountains! Those vast ranges of rock that jut up from the earth, formed through millions of years of life. What wonderful ancient forces of strength they are. Mankind has a need to climb them. I used to think it was to touch the skies, but it is really the challenge that is attractive. A chance to pit strength against strength and attempt to endure. I have never climbed a mountain so I can’t tell you how that feels. I have only stared at the magnificence of those vast slopes where life gradually gives way to solid rock and then the white snow crystals of the summit, and felt the ancient earth power that exudes from them. The feeling of slow solidity, of permanence, of strength.
Where in your life are you lacking strength? This could be strength of character, resolve or purpose, or physical strength. Take some time to visualise the mountains on this card. Feel their strong presence, their unwillingness to yield, their slow dependability. Think about how the mountains strength could help you. Feel its ancient earth presence and know that where ever you are you are connected to this strength. Where are the nearest mountains to you? Find out and then use a map to visualise a line of energy running from them to you. let that energy rise up through your feet and fill you with deep, solid strength of the kind that stays put and will never leave you. Let this strength make you tall, let it raise your head and give you pride in who you are. Let it give you ancient wisdom that guides you ever upwards, helping you endure.
Even the weakest person, physically, can be filled with strength. Think of a new born baby. How much strength of will does it possess? How much strength of purpose. A baby knows what it needs and does all in its power to get it. You may not feel as big and strong as a mountain, but in reality, you definitely are.
